Buchele Plastic Surgery, PC is at 40 Four Mile Drive, Suite 5 on the north edge of Kalispell. We are where the old Greenery nursery used to be, diagonally across the street from the community college. [Map] We are a 2,000 sq ft office we designed to be the right blend of comfortable and clinical so you feel at home, yet safe and secure that you are getting first class medical care.
My formal education and experience is here, but let me give you a snapshot of my life.
In 1955, I was born to a Methodist minister who went back to school, became a general surgeon, and moved as a “missionary” to a town of 1,200 people in rural Kentucky. I attended high school, college, and medical school in Kentucky. My Mom ran his office until his death from lymphoma in 1984. She has since remarried and still lives there in Cloverport, Kentucky.
I was finishing my 5 years of General Surgery training at the University of Iowa when he died and then went to Springfield Illinois and completed a 2 year Plastic Surgery residency in 1987, the same year my only child Anne, was born. We moved to Columbus Ohio where I joined the faculty of the Ohio State University. As I moved up the academic ranks I felt I did not have the business skills to run the Division of Plastic Surgery, so while still practicing, completed an MBA from Auburn University May 2005. I was the Chief of Plastic surgery of the Division form March 2004 until my resignation.
On a vacation, we met a couple from Whitefish and first visited the Valley in 2002. Recurring visits here, and politics at the University lead my wife Diane and I to believe that a change was a good idea, so we got all the details in order and opened the office here in Kalispell, April 2006.
Diane was born in Buffalo, New York, so is ready for the snow! She moved to central Ohio, received her nursing degree, and began a career in Operating room nursing. In 1998, after 12 years in the OR doing primarily cardiac surgery cases, she took and administrative job as the research coordinator for the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Ohio State University.
In the fall of 2005, Diane and I thought long and hard about the decision to move and go into practice together. I was convinced her OR experience and the 7 years of administrative skills made her perfect to run our office. I was right!
Sherry Brinton became our office associate November 2006. She is a Montana native who we stole from her job in Columbia Falls. She will greet you at the door and talk to you on the phone with a kindness and enthusiasm which is refreshing and all too rare in doctor's offices these days. She was an early patient in our practice and is dedicated to helping each patient get the same level of satisfaction she did. She lives in Columbia Falls and is helping us learn the style of the Valley.
